Northern Ireland fans react to performance of Arsenal talent Daniel Ballard
Northern Ireland went 10 games without a win after drawing 1-1 with Romania at Windsor Park but Arsenal starlet Daniel Ballard did produce another standout performance.
The youngster is on loan at Blackpool at the moment where he will hope to wow Mikel Arteta and force his way into the Arsenal team.
After shining in Ian Barraclough’s team against Austria at the weekend he was handed another cap against Romania.
He couldn’t help his country claim that elusive victory but he did earn himself some rave reviews from the nation’s supporters.

Ballard has risen through the academy ranks at Arsenal and is now cutting his teeth in League One.
The 21-year-old man-mountain has made five appearances for the Tangerines, operating in his typical central defensive role.
Ballard hasn’t look out of place on the international stage. He is uncompromising, strong in possession and isn’t afraid to put his body on the line.
Whether he earns himself an opportunity at Arsenal remains to be seen but he does seem to be on the right track.
Following last night’s game supporters took to Twitter to rave about the progress of the emerging star.
Here is what they were saying about the Gunners youngster.
A glimpse into the next few years for tonight. The young guys like Ali McCann and Daniel Ballard being integrated into the team on a regular basis alongside the senior pros of Jonny Evans and Stuart Dallas. Encouraging after a dismal Nations League campaign.

Daniel Ballard played the full 90 for Northern Ireland v Romania. Put in another really good performance. Very encouraging.

A depressing week to be a Northern Ireland fan but some signs of what’s to come from the youth tonight. Daniel Ballard and Ali McCann faultless so far tonight and Ethan Galbraith getting minutes. The future’s bright (and green and white)

Daniel Ballard really is brilliant isn’t he
