Noni Madueke and Tottenham players react as teenager makes Spurs debut
J’Neil Bennett has posted on Instagram after making his senior debut for Tottenham Hotspur – albeit during a 1-0 defeat to Pacos de Ferreira. A woeful loss that has put Spurs into doubt regarding ECL qualification. Bennett posted on Instagram, and Noni Madueke is among those to reply.
Lucas Silva scored the only goal of the game in first-half injury time as he raced through on goal – tucking neatly under Pierluigi Gollini. Spurs struggled to fashion many chances, as Nuno Espirito Santo made 11 changes to the side that beat Manchester City on Sunday. Bennett was a substitute.
The 19-year-old, who has England Under-18 caps and turned out 33 times for the Under-23 side, was handed nine minutes to shine from the bench. While he made little impact in the short space of time, it was clearly a massive moment for the teen.
Madueke and Tottenham players ‘proud’ of Bennett on Instagram
One of the players to comment on Bennett’s Instagram was Madueke. Of course, the 19-year-old England Under-21 international left Spurs at just 16 to go and play for PSV Eindhoven. He is currently shining.
Madueke made it clear that he was proud of his old Tottenham academy teammate Bennett. As did Dane Scarlett, Troy Parrott and more.
