Noel Whelan would prefer Eberechi Eze over Emiliano Buendia at Leeds

Noel Whelan has claimed on that he would prefer Leeds United to sign QPR’s Eberechi Eze over Norwich City’s Emiliano Buendia if he had to pick one.

Marcelo Bielsa’s team have been linked with both attacking midfielders ahead of the upcoming transfer window, as they prepare for life back in the Premier League after promotion from the Championship as title winners.

The has claimed that the Whites want to sign Eze, but are joined by Tottenham, West Ham and Crystal Palace in pursuing the 22-year-old.

It is understood that the Championship man is valued at £20million and Leeds’ interest dates back to January.

Meanwhile, has claimed that Leeds have made an enquiry for 23-year-old Buendia following Norwich’s relegation from the top-flight.

Ex-Leeds forward Whelan sided with the QPR creator out of the two targets to be playing at Elland Road next season.

TBR’s View:

Leeds fans can expect plenty of speculation during the next couple of months when it comes to new signings and they are going to need a few quality faces come through the door to prepare for the Premier League.

Eze is a highly-rated Englishman that has been a real force in the Championship with QPR and looks destined to be playing in the top-tier next season, which is why he would be an immense £20million addition.

He scored 14 goals and supplied eight assists in 48 games across all competitions, and it’s easy to imagine him slotting in nicely to the attack-minded style at Leeds.

Meanwhile, Buendia has shown in glimpses this campaign what he can do in the Premier League and is perhaps in the mould of Pablo Hernandez, but has been in a struggling Norwich team.
