‘No way’… Gabriel Agbonlahor defends 23-year-old Man United player ahead of possible exit

Ahead of possible departure from Manchester United in January, Gabriel Agbonlahor has now been defending Jadon Sancho.

Sancho is now being with a move back to Borussia Dortmund having not featured for United for some time.

It seems any relationship between Sancho and Erik ten Hag has now completely expired, and an exit makes sense for all parties.

However, when speaking on , Gabriel Agbonlahor was insistent that Sancho’s career won’t end at United.

The pundit suggested that Sancho was a better player than Antony who has been afforded consistent chances.

Agbonlahor said: “No way his career is over. Sometimes you fall out with managers. Antony was playing week in, week out, no goals, no goals, no goals, no assists.

“And if you are a player like Jadon Sancho you think, ‘can I have a go?’ And the manager is not giving him a chance.

“He has probably got frustrated. Maybe he hasn’t trained as well that week. And they lose to Arsenal and he’s the one who gets called out.

“Not Antony who can’t get past a player, not other players who aren’t performing. So Sancho has probably thought I’m done with this manager.

“Now he will probably go to Borussia Dortmund, get his career back on track and that’s what people want him to do.

“Players don’t always get on with managers, it happens so much in football.”

Of course, if Jadon Sancho does leave the club this month then Erik ten Hag will surely require a replacement.

Agbonlahor did also recommend that United should sign a £45m Premier League player who would instantaneously improve their front line.

Perhaps Sancho’s departure could end up being a progressive move for United’s squad, but it’s only due to the predicament they’re in.

United fans will be well aware that they could soon be seeing 23-year-old Sancho lighting up the Bundesliga once again.

Moreover, it wouldn’t be a surprise if the winger was soon back in the England squad, if his fortunes did turn around.

Agbonlahor certainly suggests that Sancho will get his career back on track once he leaves United.

Although, the pundit did think that United should be looking to offload a different forward as a priority in January.
