‘No’: Conte says two Tottenham players won’t be playing against Brighton tonight
Tottenham Hotspur boss Antonio Conte confirmed in his press conference yesterday that Japhet Tanganga and Oliver Skipp will both miss the game against Brighton and Hove Albion tonight due to injury.
Spurs are looking to bounce back after their disappointing defeat to Manchester United last weekend.
Unlike some of their other recent defeats, Tottenham actually played well at Old Trafford. They were arguably unlucky to not come away with at least a point, but when Cristiano Ronaldo decides to step up as he did, there aren’t many sides in the world who can stop him.
The focus is now on Brighton and Spurs simply have to win the game. Sadly, the two players who have missed recent games due to injury are set to remain on the sidelines.
Antonio Conte: Skipp and Tanganga will miss Brighton clash due to injury
Asked about his team news ahead of the game against Brighton, Conte said, as per : “No news, no news, the same players available for the game against Brighton.”
“The same players who were available with United,” he said, implying that Skipp and Tanganga will play no part at the Amex this evening.
Speaking further about Skipp’s injury, the Italian said: “Also this question I can’t answer! Sorry but it’s not because I’m not polite. Skipp’s situation is the first time this situation with a player happened in my management. I don’t know, I don’t know!
“For sure we need him but at the moment no-one has tried to tell me the moment when he’s ready. Also for the player because at the moment he’s really frustrated. He’s really young, he’s a really good guy. To be injured, I’m especially disappointed and frustrated for him for this situation.”

Skipp and Tanganga’s continued absence is a blow for Tottenham, but they have to find a way to win the game this evening to keep their top-four hopes alive.
Conte’s men have a couple of games in hand over Manchester United but they are five points behind. They are six short of fourth-place Arsenal and to make things worse, the Gunners have played a game fewer.
Tottenham’s hopes of finishing in the top four are hanging by a thread now. Anything but a win tonight will likely end their dreams of playing in the Champions League next season, which would raise a number of questions as they were in the driving seat to finish fourth not too long ago.
Brighton are not an easy team to beat but Conte will back his side to get the job done.
