‘No chance’… Sky journalist says striker has now turned down Manchester United

Erik ten Hag’s Manchester United want to sign Bayern Munich forward Mathys Tel.

That is according to Sky Germany journalist Florian Plettenberg, who has noted on Tel’s stance on a potential move to Old Trafford.

So, what has been reported about Manchester United and Mathys Tel? Let’s take a look.

Mathys Tel turns down potential Manchester United transfer

Well, according to Sky Germany journalist Florian Plettenberg, Manchester United are interested in signing Mathys Tel from Bayern Munich in the January transfer window.

The reporter has claimed that United have already inquired about signing Tel on a loan deal.

However, the 18-year-old French striker does not want to leave Bayern in the middle of the season.

The teenager has turned down a potential move to United and wants to stay at Bayern and learn from Harry Kane.

Kane, who was linked with a move to United, joined Bayern from Tottenham Hotspur in the summer of 2023.

Interestingly, Tel was linked with a move to Spurs in the summer of 2023.

Mathys Tel has made the right decision

In my view, Mathys Tel has made the right decision regarding his future. I believe that he would be better off at Bayern Munich than at Manchester United.

United are not having the best of times. The Red Devils are not playing brilliant football, and it would be hard for Tel to make an impact at Old Trafford.

The French striker would be expected to make an immediate impact at United, and that would not be fair to him. After all, he is just 18.

Staying at Bayern would help Tel develop and progress more. Kane is one of the best strikers on the planet, and the France Under-21 international would be able to learn from him.

Tel has scored three goals and given two assists in 10 substitute appearances in the Bundesliga and has scored two goals and given one assist in five UEFA Champions League matches.
