‘No chance’, ‘Not buying this’: Some Man City fans react to ‘nonsense’ links with £100k-p/w Premier League ace

Some Manchester City fans were reacting after the club were linked with a transfer for Chelsea ace Reece James.

According to , the Citizens have added the fullback to their wishlist. It’s thought Pep Guardiola and the club is interested in signing the England international.

After a slow start under Thomas Tuchel, the defender ended the campaign as a crucial player for the German.

He was a key figure in the run to the Champions League final, starring at right centre-back in a three-man defence. The 21-year-old also played extremely well in the FA Cup final despite the Blues’ loss to Leicester City.

James proves to be an incredibly versatile figure, which would make him a great transfer for Manchester City.

As well as being able to play right-back, he can also play at centre-half and left-back.

His ability on and off the ball is somewhat similar to City’s Kyle Walker, who at the wrong end of 30-years-old may need replacing.

James wouldn’t be a bad replacement for the Sheffield-born defender, who has three more years left on his current deal.
