‘No chance’… David Ornstein says he’s been told there’s no way £15m player signs for Arsenal next month
Douglas Luiz is said to be Arsenal’s top target heading into the January transfer window.
However, as we all know, this deal won’t be easy.
Indeed, Aston Villa are looking to mount a title challenge of their own this season, and any self-respecting team trying to win the league wouldn’t entertain the notion of selling one of their best players in January.
Of course, Arsenal have been able to pull off ambitious deals in the past, but it sounds as though this one may be a step too far for the Gunners.
Speaking on , David Ornstein has shared what he’s heard about Luiz’s situation and he’s led to believe that there’s absolutely no way Luiz ends up at Arsenal next month.

“There is always speculation around Douglas Luiz and he signed a new contract last January when Arsenal tried to sign him. It’s been described to be as no chance that Arsenal will get him this January and people I speak to of an Arsenal persuasion dispute that they’re going to go for him or that he’s the profile that everyone inside the club wants,” Ornstein said.

It sounds like Aston Villa won’t be selling Luiz, and we’re wholly behind that decision from the Midlands club.
It’s great to see a team doing so well and sticking to their guns. Villa know that they’re on the verge of something really special here, and the best way for them to push on is to keep this squad together and even add to it rather than selling a star player and making their squad worse.
There are plenty of clubs that Arsenal can bully in the transfer market, but these days, Aston Villa aren’t one of them.
