Nketiah and Tanganga react after ‘exciting’ player seals Tottenham exit
Eddie Nketiah and Japhet Tanganga were amongst the players to send a message to Dilan Markanday on Instagram after the forward sealed his move from Tottenham Hotspur to Blackburn Rovers.
Plenty of Spurs fans were left feeling furious with the club after it was announced that the 20-year-old was leaving on a permanent basis.

He only made his first-team debut for Tottenham this season. And he had been awaiting a first chance under Antonio Conte. However, Markanday had established himself as one of the most exciting talents on the club’s books.
The versatile forward scored 12 goals in 14 Premier League 2 games this season. He also provided five assists.
Spurs’ hand may have been somewhat forced. His contract in North London was due to expire in the summer. However, disgruntled Tottenham fans will surely argue that the club should not have allowed Markanday to reach the final stages of his deal.

Tottenham’s loss certainly appears to be Blackburn’s gain. Rovers are right in the mix for automatic-promotion out of the Championship this campaign. And Tony Mowbray has done a brilliant job with some of the youngsters he has signed from Premier League clubs in recent years. Following the move, he labelled the starlet ‘‘.

Markanday must have seen leaving Tottenham for Blackburn as best route towards Premier League football
No side in the Championship has taken more points from their last six than Blackburn. They have been outstanding in the last few months. In fact, the loss that sparked their incredible run of form was actually a 7-0 defeat to Fulham at Ewood Park in November.
Obviously, there is a long way to go. And Blackburn have rarely flirted with promotion since their most recent relegation from the Premier League.
But Markanday may have felt that moving from Tottenham to Rovers presented him with the best opportunity to really become a Premier League player in the next year or so.
