Neymar sends message to Tottenham star Lucas Moura on Instagram
Lucas Moura has posted an emotional message on Instagram after Tottenham Hotspur were knocked out of the Champions League by RedBull Leipzig on Tuesday night – and Neymar has sent a message to his former PSG teammate.
Spurs suffered a 3-0 defeat to Leipzig on the night in Germany, suffering a 4-0 aggregate loss to the Bundesliga side – despite reaching the competition’s final last season under Mauricio Pochettino.
A brace from Marcel Sabitzer and a late effort from Emil Forsberg saw Leipzig progress, as an injury-hit Spurs side struggled to cope defensively with Julian Nagelsmann’s free-flowing, confident attack.
Moura was seen upset after the match, crouching down at the full-time whistle and looking evidently distraught before being comforted by his manager Jose Mourinho. He posted on Instagram that he still feels pride to wear the Tottenham shirt.
Neymar joined PSG from Barcelona in the summer of 2017 and played alongside Moura for part of the 2017-18 campaign – before Moura left to join Tottenham in January 2018. The duo are also Brazil teammates, when Moura gets picked.
The Brazil and PSG Superstar sent a heartfelt message to his former club teammate Moura, stating that he will be better for Tottenham’s heavy defeat and come back stronger. Spurs are next in action on Sunday against Manchester United.
Neymar’s message is translated as: “Challenges are made for us to overcome. Sometimes we don’t get what we wanted, the triumph. But you can be sure that it will make you stronger going forward. Keep going bro.”
