Neymar leaves wordless reaction after seeing what Gabriel Jesus has done for Arsenal in pre-season

Brazilian superstar Neymar has certainly been impressed with one Arsenal player as the club begin their pre-season preparations in the United States.

Mikel Arteta took a youthful squad of players stateside on Sunday, ready to play three Premier League sides before the new season begins.

Of course, the Arsenal manager was missing most of those who featured at the Euros and Copa America, the likes of Bukayo Saka and Declan Rice.

But in their absence, there’s a chance for some players on the periphery of things to stake their claim, a similar opportunity that will be enjoyed by some of the young players in the US.

In that regards, many will imagine that Jurrien Timber will be out to impress after essentially missing the entirety of his first season injured in north London.

Arteta has been incredibly complimentary about Timber – someone he will probably lean on as a regular starter in the coming months.

And then there’s players like Emile Smith Rowe and Gabriel Jesus – a pair who were once indisputable starters for Arteta.

Both now appear to be out of the manager’s strongest eleven, something they’ll be insistent on changing.

Neymar seriously impressed with Arsenal striker Gabriel Jesus in the US

Right now it seems very unclear if Smith Rowe will remain an Arsenal player for the coming season amid interest from Crystal Palace and Fulham.

However, there’s no such doubt about Brazilian striker Jesus.

Jesus has returned in brilliant shape in pre-season for Arsenal, someone who has no interest in leaving the club despite losing his starting spot to Kai Havertz.

Instead the former Manchester City player seems determined to prove his worth, hoping to be available on a much more regular basis this season.

That being said, Arsenal uploaded a montage of Jesus’ shooting drills in one of the early sessions in the US on .

And having also not featured for Brazil in the Copa America, in his case because of injury rather than a selection call, Al-Hilal forward Neymar was very impressed.

Neymar replied to the aforementioned video with two flame emojis, happy to see his compatriot thriving.

Of course, Arsenal supporters will be delighted if Jesus can prove everyone wrong this season – hoping the Brazilian can prove that the club don’t need to recruit a new forward.

And Jesus’ return to form could therefore be very timely given Arteta’s number one Arsenal target doesn’t want to come to England
