Next West Ham manager: Hammers discuss Nuno and Rafa Benitez

West Ham United have discussed appointing Nuno Espirito Santo and Rafa Benitez as David Moyes seemingly finds himself on the brink at the London Stadium, .

The Hammers are currently going through an awful run of form right now. They have not won in the Premier League since late October. Since then, they have also picked up just one point.

West Ham have now fallen into the relegation zone. And it appears that many supporters are now at the unfortunate point where they believe that a change is needed.

And it seems that they could look towards a more short-term appointment to try and get them out of trouble. In fact, suggests that two of the names who have been debated are Nuno and Benitez.

Nuno is currently working in Saudi Arabia. So he would presumably command a fee. He has not worked in the Premier League since being sacked by Tottenham.

Meanwhile, Benitez has been out of work since his torrid time at Everton. He was dismissed by the Toffees one year ago tomorrow.

The report notes that neither appointment would be particularly popular with the fanbase.

Some supporters have lost faith in the Moyes’ regime. They have full respect for everything he has done at West Ham. But some would also like to see him go before the situation turns anymore toxic.

Having said that, Moyes has led West Ham out of a relegation battle in the past. So if they are not going to make an exciting appointment, surely it would make sense to stick with the Scot rather than turn to either Nuno or Benitez.
