Next Spurs manager: Fans react to Valverde reports
A number of Tottenham Hotspur fans have taken to Twitter to comment after Fabrizio Romano suggested that Spurs had made an approach for Ernesto Valverde as they continue their search for their next manager.
Tottenham fans need little reminding of the problems the club have had. They seem to have got far down the line with Antonio Conte, Paulo Fonseca and perhaps even Gennaro Gattuso.

They have also been linked with a raft of other names. But with their pursuit of Gattuso proving to be incredibly brief, they now appear to be back at square one.
And Romano has suggested on Twitter that an approach for Valverde has now been made.

He also noted that Ralf Rangnick and Erik ten Hag remain on their radar…

Ernesto Valverde new name approached – not advanced yet.
Ralf Rangnick and Erik ten Hag always been appreciated, both are in the list – but ‘complicated’.Crazy but… race still open.

Valverde appears to be a new name on the wishlist. And it is probably not a huge surprise that he has not been spoken about more.
He has spent the large majority of his managerial career in Spain. He has also been out of work for almost 18 months.
The 57-year-old did enjoy some success with Barcelona. He won La Liga in both of his full seasons at the Nou Camp.
However, the brand of football did not always win admirers given the style that is synonymous with the Catalan giants.
‘Yes please’: Some Spurs fans excited by prospect of Valverde becoming next manager
Nevertheless, while some have expressed a little concern, it does appear that many would definitely be in favour of Valverde being appointed.
Spurs fans are, understandably, incredibly concerned about what direction their club is going in in their search. So there is certainly a sense that they could do considerably worse.
Here is how some of the Tottenham supporters have reacted to the news…
As a spurs fan that lives in Barcelona and supports both teams i gotta say that this is wrong. Definitely not a good idea. Before barça he was a class manager but not a one that played offensively. When he signed for barça you literally fell asleep while watching the games.

Would be a good appointment.

Get him in! He was class at Bilbao and did well at Barcelona I’d take him! Very experienced and can steady the ship and he plays good football
