Newcastle & West Ham can now sign 158-goal target compared to Harry Kane for free

Earlier in the transfer window, it was said that Newcastle and West Ham were in Torino striker Andrea Belotti.

The Italy international – who Joe Hart said is Harry Kane – was nearing free agency, although given his status as a bit of an icon at Torino, we expected him to sign a new contract.

However, to our surprise, the 28-year-old has now left the Serie A side after seven years and appearances, which – in our view – should put Eddie Howe and David Moyes on red alert.

What’s the story?

Well, we are expecting many clubs to take a look at Belotti.

The Italian – who has also been – has scored goals throughout his career, and was regarded as one of the best forwards in Serie A.

Belotti endured a difficult campaign last season, scoring just goals in games, although there is no denying that he is a brilliant forward, who maybe just needs a change of scenery.

Of course, Newcastle have the funds to sign pretty much any striker they want, whereas West Ham seem to be on a deal for Arnaut Danjuma at the moment.

However, if the Magpies and the Hammers struggle to land other targets, they would be foolish not to at least take a look at Belotti given his status as a free agent.

West Ham need Andrea Belotti more than Newcastle

In our view, Moyes needs Belotti more than Howe does.

Michail Antonio has been shouldering the burden in attack for too long now, ever since Sebastien Haller was sold to Ajax and never replaced.

With Europa League football once again on the schedule, Moyes cannot afford to rely solely on the Jamaica international, especially as he is quite injury prone.

Of course, Newcastle are in a similar boat with Callum Wilson.

However, seeing as they have more money to spend than West Ham, we feel the east Londoners should pounce on Belotti quickly, as his arrival would free up funds to spend on other areas.
