Report: Newcastle want to sign ‘unstoppable’ £50m speedster this summer; involved in 27 goals this season

Newcastle United are going to try and sign Bayer Leverkusen forward, Moussa Diaby, according to reports this weekend.

has claimed that Diaby is one of the players Newcastle manager Eddie Howe is looking at. The speedy Frenchman has had a good season with Leverkusen, to show his worth to the German side.

However, that form has attracted admiring glances from elsewhere and Newcastle, armed with money from the PIF takeover, could look to launch a move to sign Diaby.

Previous reports have suggested the £50m-rated forward is on the radar of Arsenal as well. However, the Gunners are looking at a number of other targets as well and a move for Gabriel Jesus is thought to be their preferred transfer as things stand right now.

Diaby, 22, has already broken into the French national team and has five caps to his name. With three years left on his current contract, Newcastle will have to stump up the asking price if they do want him.

The Toon won again this weekend as goals from Bruno Guimaraes and Joelinton ensured a fine win down at Norwich.

TBR’s View: Diaby An Exciting Signing For Newcastle

Pace, trickery, and an eye for goal, Moussa Diaby is everything Newcastle fans love in a player. He’ll bring excitement to St James’ Park but crucially, he has end product as well.

This summer is an exciting time to be a Newcastle fan. A number of big players are being linked with a move and Diaby is a player who genuinely makes this team even better. He could take them to the next level, and his goals and assists in Germany show his quality.

£50m might seem like a lot of money. But Newcastle can afford it if they really want, and Diaby is a talented boy with room for even more improvement.
