Newcastle United’s record in the matches Bruno Guimaraes has missed since signing looks worrying ahead of Arsenal clash

Newcastle United have a worrying record without Bruno Guimaraes who has missed just a small handful of games since arriving on Tyneside three years ago.

Eddie Howe’s side will have to contend without Guimaraes against Arsenal at the Emir꧋ates and their record with him not in the team is deeply concerning. The Brazilian is suspended for the trip to North London after being booked in the quarter-final win over Brentford.

The Magpies a♎re looking to end their 55-year trophy drought this season, however, they will be missing Guimaraes for the first time this season for the semi-final first leg.

Newcastle United’s record without Bruno Guimaraes

Guimaraes is yet to miss a match this term and their strong push to return to the Champions League has been largely down to his superb form in midfield. The Brazilian has been part of one of the Premier League’s best midfield trios alongside Sandro Tonali and Joelinton.

But against the Gu꧟nners at the Emirates, Howe will need to find an alternative option to replace him with due to his suspension. They will also be without  as the Swiss defender is also suspended for the first leg.

Who will replace Bruno Guimaraes vs Arsenal?

Joe Willock and Sean Longstaff are the two options Newcastle have to replaꦑce the Brazဣilian international. Longstaff is the most likely choice as Howe may opt to add some much-needed physicality into the middle of the park.

The Newcastle boss will also need to decide on the fitness of Sven Botman who has just returned from injury and played 90 minutes against Tottenham. Howe will need to determine whether 𝄹the Dutch defender can start back-to-back matches 🐻or whether he’ll need to bring in Llyod Kelly.

Newastle’s probable lineup vs Arsenal: Dubravka, Trippier, Botman, Burn, Hall; Tonali, Longstaff, Joelinton; Murphy, Gordon, Isak.
