Newcastle United players think they know what Alexander Isak is going to do amid interest from Liverpool

Alexander Isak sent shockwaves across the Premier League this week as it emerged that he’s keen to leave Newcastle.

Indeed, Alexander Isak is ready for a new challenge, and, despite signing Hugo Ekitike, Liverpool are keen to do a deal.

Liverpool can afford Isak despite their huge summer of spending already, and when a player this special comes onto the market, you have to pounce.

Whether or not Liverpool will make a move here remains to be seen, but if the Reds do put an offer in, many inside Newcastle expect that Isak will go, including his teammates.

Newcastle players expect Alexander Isak to go if Liverpool bid

According to , many Newcastle United players believe that Alexander Isak will go to Liverpool if the Reds place an adequate bid for the striker.

Unfortunately for Liverpool, this report also states that it would take £150m to get a deal done.

£150m would represent another British transfer record, and it’s unclear whether Liverpool would be willing to cough up that sort of cash in the same summer they signed Florian Wirtz.

Liverpool made an approach for Isak earlier this month, but the arrival of Hugo Ekitike at Anfield may well have complicated things.

Liverpool could fund Alexander Isak deal through sales

£150m is a shedload of money to spend on one transfer, but Liverpool could well fund this deal through a few clever player sales.

Darwin Nunez is expected to leave Anfield, Harvey Elliott is on his way out, while Bayern Munich want Luis Diaz.

It’s not unrealistic to suggest that those three players could fetch Liverpool in excess of £120m between them, and that would fund most of the Isak fee.

Of course, it’s not just as easy as buying and selling in this way, but, in theory, Liverpool could afford this deal if they manage their outgoings cleverly.

Don’t be shocked if Liverpool do indeed make a move for Isak before the end of this transfer window.
