Newcastle United eye £50m left-back that Alan Shearer has previously said is ‘amazing’

Left-back is set to be a position that boss Eddie Howe and Newcastle United look to strengthen in the summer with the Toon lacking in options in that area – especially, as Dan Burn moves into the middle.

Long-term inꦺjuries suffered by Sven Botman and Jamaal Lascelles has seen Burn move into the middle of the defence, but with Matty Targett out injured – on-loan Chelsea ace Lewis Hall has been playing there.

Hall is expected to sign a permanent deal with Nജewcastle – with the reporting a £28m move is close. Howe has said that he is preparing to have Hall at his di🍎sposal for a number of years at Newcastle.

But theౠ signing of Hall should not stop Newcastle looking at a move for a left-b🍸ack. Burn will surely stay as an option at centre-back, and realistically, Hall is a player for the future. He still has plenty to learn.

Newcastle need a left-back as Dan Burn covers in the middle

Targett’s future is likely to be away from Newcastle ahead of the summer, and the same for Jamal Lewis – despite his impressive form out on loan at Watford. The Toon will be after a new left-back this summerꦅ.

say Newcastle are interested in signing Wolves defender Rayan Ait-Nouri from Wolves. The Toon 💖are touted as a suitor for the Algeria star, who has continued🌸 to shine in a Wolves shirt this term.

Recently, it was reported that Liverpool were t🍌he ‘most-serious contender’ to sign Ait-Nouri from Wolves. A player that is now being rated at a whopping , after Arsenal had bids rejected for him in January.

What Alan Shearer and Ally McCoist have said about Ait-Nouri

Ait-Nouri made his debut for Wolves back in November 2020 and scored in a 2-0 win against Crystal Palace – and Alan Shearer raved about the defender. He said it as an “amazing” debut from Ait-Nouri.

More recently, Wolves were surprisingly knocked out of The FA Cup quarter-finals by Championship side Coventry City – even though Ait-Nouri laid on an assist in the game. Ally McCoist raved about the assist.

He described it as “ridiculous”. Ait-Nouri is a top left-back, a player that is excellent going forward but good enough defensively on the lefꦆt flank. Newcastle would be w🎐ise to make a move for the Algerian.
