Newcastle United could receive late Saudi offer with clubs still in discussion over move
Newcastle United’s final few days of the transfer window did not go to plan and it seems their summer business is not yet over.
The Tyneside club suffered a miserable end to the summer window after missing out on their top targets.
Newcastle United walked away from a deal for Marc Guehi on deadline day after having several bids rejected by Crystal Palace over the summer.
The Magpies then set their sights on bringing a new winger to the club and offered £50m to sign Anthony Elanga just hours before the deadline. However, that offer was also rejected by Nottingham Forest.
Newcastle United have now ended their summer window with only five new arrivals – the most expensive being the £30m deal for Lewis Hall which was already agreed last season.
Newcastle ended up making a £22m profit from the window, and a late offer from Saudi Arabia could now arrive to add to their earnings.

Saudi Arabia weigh up late Kieran Trippier offer
Kieran Trippier‘s future was a big talking point this window after he asked to leave Newcastle United.
Trippier was linked with a move to Everton to reunite with Sean Dyche, but a move across the Premier League never came to fruition before the deadline.
Eddie Howe was eager to keep hold of Trippier despite the player asking to leave, but even with the English window now closed he could still complete a late exit.
According to , a number of Turkish and Saudi Arabian clubs are still in discussion over a potential move for Trippier.
Jose Mourinho’s Fenerbahce have made contact over a potential move, while Al Ittihad from the Saudi Pro League also retain an interest.
Newcastle United have left it too late
Just like the rest of their transfer business this summer, Newcastle have left it far too late to sell Trippier.

The 33-year-old is an experienced veteran and a leader in the Newcastle dressing room – losing him this late without being able to find a replacement would be problematic.
Tino Livramento has been Howe’s first-choice right-back at the start of this season, but Newcastle will need quality depth and competition for the 21-year-old and that’s where Trippier is essential.
