Newcastle transfer news: Eddie Howe now ready to launch £53m bid for midfielder
Newcastle are readying a bid for Lazio and Serbia midfielder Sergej Milinkovic-Savic in the coming days.
That is according to Italian outlet , who claim that a 60 million (£53 million) bid is going to be put in, as well as a generous financial package for the player.
A £10.6 million signing bonus and wages of up to £8.8 million per year are also mentioned, with the next few days said to be crucial.
Newcastle’s priority is getting a number six through the door before the end of the transfer window, but there has also been a lot of talk that they have to be conscious of FFP.

Newcastle reportedly reading Milinkovic-Savic bid
That means there is reason to doubt whether they really are going to go so big for the player, who has been extensively linked with the Premier League in the past.
Newcastle have been consistently linked with huge money deals, and so far they have largely focused on younger, hungry players.
Milinkovic-Savic is 27 and still awaiting his big move away from Lazio, amid talk he will not sign an extension to the deal he has which runs until 2024.
It has also been reported this week that the midfielder is available for loan, with an obligation to buy, and that kind of structure may well suit Newcastle a lot better this month.
Arsenal have also been mentioned as a potential suitor, but it seems their priority is a new wide forward to bolster Mikel Arteta’s frontline.
The Serbian has been described as and it does seem that he has the quality to come in and make Newcastle better.
And players who can do that will cost a lot in fees and wages, but it just feels unlikely this one will run as hot as the report says.
The report claims that people close to any potential deal are trying to play it down, so we will wait and see how it develops, if at all.
