Report: Newcastle think they can beat Arsenal to ‘fantastic’ £60m player; his future is in doubt right now
Newcastle United fans are probably quite excited about the summer could bring and a new name thrown into the mix today is Everton striker and Arsenal-linked Englishman, Dominic Calvert-Lewin.
According to a report from , Calvert-Lewin is on a list of potential signings for Newcastle as PIF look to flex their financial muscles in the summer months. It’s also claimed Harry Kane could be looked at, although any move for the England skipper would surely take some doing.

Calvert-Lewin, though, could be more feasible. Despite Everton wanting for the striker, that sort of money won’t be out of reach for Newcastle. Especially, given their Premier League safety is seemingly all but secured. The striker has excelled at Goodison Park, with former boss Carlo Ancelotti .
Arsenal are another club monitoring Calvert-Lewin, whose future at Everton is said to be in doubt due to potential financial problems due to the current European sanctions affecting Russia. The Toffees could well be forced into a sale and that could well be to the delight of PIF and Newcastle.
The Toon signed Chris Wood in January. However, it’s widely accepted in the northeast that more new faces are going to arrive in the summer, with a striker a likely option.
TBR’s View: Calvert-Lewin Could Thrive In Newcastle
As this season progresses and Newcastle impress more and more under Eddie Howe, players will be taking more notice of what is going on at St James’ Park.
In January, there was that worry about them being in the Championship. This affected player perception, and they actually did well to sign who they did. But now, with safety all but certain, players like Calvert-Lewin might view the Toon as a huge project.
Certainly, he’d fit in well. Hard-working, used to being the focal point, and with international pedigree. Calvert-Lewin ticks a lot of boxes for the Magpies.
