Newcastle target’s club has signed his replacement, PIF ready to pay £25m – report
Newcastle United are reportedly eyeing Lucas Digne in the January transfer window.
According to , the Magpies are eager to snap up the Everton left-back to bolster their ranks.
Newcastle have the joint-worst defensive record in the Premier League this season and reportedly want two new defenders.

As well as the Magpies, Chelsea are apparently eager to land Digne in wake of Ben Chilwell’s injury layoff.
But while the Blues apparently want the Frenchman on loan, Everton want a straight deal – something Newcastle wouldn’t mind doing.
Digne reportedly has a £25million price tag, but this fee wouldn’t deter Newcastle following their long-awaited takeover.
On New Year’s Day, the Magpies may just have been given the green light to proceed for Digne.
The Toffees have officially the signing of Vitaliy Mykolenko from Dynamo Kiev for a reported £17million plus add-ons.
The left-back has won 21 caps for Ukraine and was a key part of the side which reached the quarter-finals of Euro 2020 earlier this year.
With Mykolenko now at Goodison Park, it looks as though it’ll pave the way for Digne to sort out a move elsewhere.
The Frenchman would no doubt boost the Newcastle ranks considerably.
He has made over 300 appearances for the likes of Barcelona, PSG, Roma and Lille as well as Everton.
In addition, Digne has won 43 France caps and has an impressive CV which includes one La Liga title, two Ligue 1 titles and the 2021 Nations Cup.
