Newcastle staff think they have two youngsters in their ranks who will become England internationals

Staff at Newcastle United are now confident that both Tino Livramento and Lewis Hall will go on to be England internationals one day.

That was detailed in a report by today which was delineating just how stretched Newcastle’s squad has become.

Eddie Howe is dealing with a host of injuries right now, including the likes of Sven Botman and Alexander Isak.

And even without players missing, this Newcastle squad was going to look thin with the addition of Champions League football this season.

Therefore, Newcastle’s decision to invest so much money into players for the future, like Livramento and Hall, has come into question.

Neither full-back has had a sizable impact on the team’s fortunes this season, and have shared very few minutes between them.

And although Alan Shearer thought the signings were a gamble, details how Newcastle believe they have made a good call.

The club believe that both will go on to play for England, and that they’ve now secured the positions for years to come.

Of course, Newcastle will have an opportunity to showcase that faith when their side travel to Manchester United tonight.

Both players started in the impressive win over Manchester City in the previous round, albeit Lewis Hall was at left-wing.

And given all of Newcastle’s unavailability, and a date with Arsenal on Saturday, they will surely make a host of changes again.

Newcastle certainly do have reason for optimism given they have players like Anthony Gordon, Hall and Livramento.

However, their squad does now look like it needs a boost in the interim.

Eddie Howe seems set on giving his young signings time to adapt before they are relied upon in the first team.

But that may be a decision that has to change given how relentless this schedule is proving to be.
