Newcastle should target 27-year-old who’s been compared to Luis Suarez, out of contract next year – TBR View
A new era has begun at Newcastle United as their long-awaited takeover has finally been finalised.
Mike Ashley’s 14-year ownership of the Magpies is over, and a Saudi-led consortium is now in charge at St James’ Park.
The consortium consists of Saudi Arabia’s Public Investment Fund (PIF), financier Amanda Staveley and David and Simon Reuben.

Staveley the new club owners have “the same ambitions as Manchester City and PSG” in terms of success on the pitch.
However, she made clear that things won’t change overnight, and turning Newcastle into a major force will take time.
‘Do we want to win the Premier League within five to 10 years? Yes,” she .
“This takeover is hugely transformative. We want to see trophies.
“But trophies need investment, time, patience and team work.”
With that in mind, Newcastle aren’t going to land Neymars and Mbappes at this moment in time – not while the club is battling relegation.
That said, the Magpies could certainly target players in the tiers below – and there’s one player who could be worth a shout next year, both in terms of quality and being a somewhat realistic target.

Torino and Italy striker Andrea Belotti is out of contract next year and, according to resident Urbano Cairo, “probably doesn’t want to sign” a new deal.
“I made an offer that went beyond my capabilities, but I can’t force him to do anything,” quotes him as saying. “I don’t think he wants to sign.”
Belotti can now negotiate a free transfer to sides from January onwards – and a Newcastle would certainly be able to offer him big wages and a signing-on fee.
Newcastle would be landing a top striker in Belotti
Belotti has not only become a legend at Torino but has also written his name in Azzurri folklore.
The powerhouse striker joined the Granata in 2015 from Palermo.
Belotti has clocked up .
He has also won 39 caps for Italy, scoring 12 goals, and was part of the Azzurri squad that triumphed at Euro 2020.
Belotti boasts several key traits including speed, acceleration, strength, work-rate, tactical awareness and of course, an eye for goal.
And fans have compared him to some other top players over the years:
I watched Belotti once or twice when his hype was building up and I though 'man, this bloke reminds me of a Liverpool's Suarez'.

Don't get why Chelsea want him gone, belotti reminds me of a ruud van nistelrooy, very clinical in the box

Belotti as he is a warrior, reminds me of tevez and still very young so you would hope he would only get better

⚫️🔴 Gattuso: "Belotti reminds me of Shevchenko"

Do you agree fans?
Belotti has become such a good player, even better than when Torino put that €100 million exit clause as a way to keep him. He has great work rate, collects a ton of fouls on top of scoring a lot of goals- he reminds me a bit of Vialli
— David Amoyal (@DavidAmoyal)
Belotti reminds me of Cavani. Obviously not as lethal finishing, maybe in the future? Would be good for Italy haha

Belotti everyday of the week. He’s both footed, ridiculously good strike on him. Reminds me of a stronger mason greenwood
