Newcastle should send Hayden out on loan to get him back on track

Newcastle United have an interesting decision to make in January when it comes to Isaac Hayden.

In the summer, in the North East and he wanted to move away for personal reasons.

But the ex-Arsenal midfielder did not manage to secure a move away from St James’ Park.

And things looked like they were about to turn even more sour when he was sent off against Cardiff City after coming off the bench in his first game.

Hayden was then overlooked for a handful of games but came on against Bournemouth as .

But Rafa Benitez still has a decision to make in January; does he keep him, sell him or loan him out?

Looking at the long-term advantages of having Hayden on their books, the best short-term option would be to send him out on loan.

Hayden could go to a Championship club, possibly to another Premier League side or even abroad for half a season.

The former England under-21 international is likely to drop back down the pecking order when Jonjo Shelvey returns from injury.

And what he needs at this stage of his career is plenty of playing time.

If Hayden can perform well out on loan and sort out whatever it is that’s unsettling him in Newcastle, he could return next summer like a new signing.
