Newcastle should ramp up reported interest in striker Cenk Tosun
Newcastle United surely have to welcome a centre-forward through the St James’ Park doors in January and it will be a failure if they don’t.
The Magpies have had midfielder Jonjo Shelvey score five goals across all competitions this season, but apart from that no player has managed more than two and there is a serious lack of firepower.
, Newcastle could come into the equation with potential interest in Everton striker Cenk Tosun.
But Sky Sports now reports that Crystal Palace are in talks with Everton over a loan deal for the Premier League striker.
It is understood that the 28-year-old would prefer to stay in the Premier League or move to Germany, rather than return to his homeland Turkey.

Tosun has hardly set the Premier League alight during his time in English football and scepticism over his potential signature would be understanding.
But he would be an upgrade on the current options at Newcastle and around the penalty area could provide the quality that Steve Bruce’s squad lacks.
Despite limited minutes this season, he still has one goal and three assists in his eight appearances across all competitions.
The Turkey internatonal has 10 goals in 51 games in an Everton shirt, which isn’t too bad when you take into account he’s only completed 90 minutes 11 times.
