Newcastle should enter race for Manchester City winger Patrick Roberts
Newcastle United do of course need to resolve the future of their manager Rafael Benitez, but beyond that need to be looking at potential transfer targets for the summer.
The Magpies remained in the Premier League this season for the second year in succession and a consistent defence played a big part in that.
They could do with some more attacking firepower at St James’ Park going into next year and should be searching the market.
One man that should pop up on the radar of the North East club is Patrick Roberts, who will reportedly be allowed to leave Premier League champions Manchester City this summer.
, the 22-year-old attacker is entering the final year of his contract at the Etihad Stadium and may be sold.
The report details that Leicester City and Celtic are keen on the winger, who is valued at around £4million.
Newcastle should look at joining the race for the Englishman, as he is set to be available at a bargain price.

Roberts has had a frustrating campaign out on loan with Spanish club Girona, where he’s made just 21 appearances across all competitions and failed to impress.
But the right-winger has at least tried his hand abroad and he’s previously shown what he can do during time on loan with Celtic.
The left-footed attacker won has three league title medals from his time in Scotland and he was directly involved in 44 goals in 78 games for Celtic.
Roberts still has so much potential to fulfil and deserves a crack next season to try make it in the Premier League.
Newcastle should definitely enter the pursuit for the £4million bargain, as he would increase competition in the squad and could be a real hit.
