Newcastle United had a late PSR scare in June but managed to raise the necessary funds to avoid a potential points deduction.

Now, they can start to bring new signings in as Eddie Howe looks to assemble a squad capable of achieving a top-six finish.

Newcastle are trying to sign Marc Guehi and are also thought to be keen on landing a wide player having scouted one on the continent.

According to , Newcastle United scouts were in attendance during Galatasaray’s 2-1 win against Hatayspor on Friday.

They were there to keep a close eye on Baris Alper Yilmaz, who played the full 90 minutes as a left-winger.

Aston Villa scouts were also present and monitoring the Turkey international, so evidently competition for his signature will be rife.

Yilmaz has been linked to Arsenal this summer with some reports even suggesting the Gunners were readying a £17.1m bid.

The Turkey international is valued at around £25m, though, that fee may be negotiable.

Yilmaz has gathered a lot of interest this summer and that’s largely due to his terrific versatility.

The 24-year-old can operate off both flanks, as a number 10, a second striker and even at full-back, so evidently he’s a very intelligent player.
