Newcastle round-up: Barreca and Almiron join, Aarons and Lazaar to depart, Ritchie linked with exit

Newcastle United have completed two signings on deadline day.

the arrival of Miguel Almiron from Atlanta United on a five-and-a-half year deal.

The 24-year-old Paraguay international plays as an attacking midfielder and is reportedly a club record transfer ().

And before Almiron arrived, Monaco left-back Antonio Barreca signed on loan with an option to buy, .

Rolando Aarons and Achraf Lazaar are both set to leave the club on temporary arrangements.

that Aarons and Lazaar are heading to Sheffield Wednesday on loan until the end of the season.

Aarons, who plays on the left wing, has failed to live up to the early hype in his career and has seen injury halt his progress.

Left-back Lazaar does not feature in Rafa Benitez’s plans and Barreca’s arrival means he can leave.
