Newcastle reportedly want striker that Mauricio Pochettino has compared to Harry Kane
Newcastle United’s soon-to-be owners have been linked with numerous high-profile players since reports emerged that the club were close to a takeover and Gonzalo Higuain is the latest – a player Mauricio Pochettino admires.
Higuain, 32, has plummeted down the pecking order at Juventus – managing only eight goals in 34 appearances this season, completing 90 minutes in just 11 of those games. He is due to enter the final 12 months of his current contract.

That is because Newcastle need a striker. Mauricio Pochettino, who is a strong candidate for the Newcastle job, is clearly a fan of his fellow countryman – once comparing him to both England captain Harry Kane and Barcelona legend Lionel Messi.

If the new owners want to show their newly-inherited fanbase that they mean business, bringing in a big-name striker would do just the trick – as did Manchester City’s cash-rich owners in the form of signing Robinho from Real Madrid.
Newcastle need a talismanic striker. Andy Carroll is out of contract, Joelinton has failed and both Dwight Gayle and Yoshinori Muto are also likely to leave. Higuain is the perfect striker, even if would cost a huge amount.
