Newcastle ready substantial bid for £42m player and have already contacted his agent

Newcastle United are preparing a colossal offer for a promising player in Europe.

The Magpies have made three additions so far this summer, two of which are goalkeepers, so evidently there is a need for further reinforcements.

Eddie Howe is thought to be keen on signing another defender after Lloyd Kelly’s arrival from Bournemouth and with that said, a seems a substantial bid is about to go in for one.

Newcastle ready bid for Malick Thiaw

According to Italian outlet , Newcastle United are insistent on signing AC Milan defender Malick Thiaw.

They also add that The Magpies have already contacted his agent to notify Thiaw of their desire to secure his signature.

further note that a substantial bid is expected to be lodged for the 22-year-old, who is valued at around £42m.

Milan have made it clear that they have no need to sell, so if Newcastle do manage to land his signature, they’ll have to pay a premium.

Newcastle also need a striker

As well as Thiaw, Newcastle also need to invest in a striker this summer following Callum Wilson’s latest injury.

Isak simply cannot play every minute so the need for a proficient back-up to the Sweden international is apparent.

Perhaps they should consider Jhon Duran, whose move to West Ham United seems to have stalled due to Aston Villa’s £40m asking price.

The Columbian forward would be the ideal second striker for the Tynesiders as he’s of a different profile to Isak.

Duran is much more geared to play the role of a focal point, so he’d compliment the former Real Sociedad man well if they were to play in the same line-up.
