Newcastle predicted XI: 32-year-old reportedly set to depart starts as Steve Bruce claims there’s no time for sentiment

With the season drawing to a close this weekend, Newcastle United will be hoping to continue their great run of form during their clash with Fulham on Sunday.

The Geordies go into the game having beaten Sheffield United in their last game, thanks to Joe Willock’s first-half header following a cross from Jacob Murphy.

It was the club’s second win across their last four games and leaves them sitting in 15th place in the division ahead of the final round of fixtures.

Meanwhile, the Cottagers are playing in their final Premier League game before they return straight back to the Championship, the club’s second relegation in three years.

There are just league positions to play for, ahead of the clash with Scott Parker’s side. A win could see the Toon army rise to as high as 12th place should results go their way, leaving the club with almost an extra .

In terms of team news, Martin Dubravka and Allan Saint-Maximin sustained injuries during the midweek victory and Steve Bruce believes they should be ok, but, he’ll wait to see how the duo train on grass before deciding if they’ll feature.

The side shouldn’t be too different to the team who faced the Blades with Dubravka slotting in goal with a back-five of Jacob Murphy, Emil Krafth, Federico Fernandez, Paul Dummett and Matt Ritchie.

Murphy supplied the beautiful cross for Willock’s opened on Wednesday evening, whilst Dummett made his 200th appearance for the club.

The trio in midfield rolls off the tongue nowadays with the England youth international partnering Miguel Almiron and Jonjo Shelvey.

However, there could well be a surprise in attack with Andy Carroll set to wave goodbye to his boyhood club despite the 61-year-old’s claims there’s no time for . The Geordie could well partner Allan Saint-Maximin despite Bruce’s cautiousness over his injury.

Newcastle predicted XI (5-3-2): Dubravka; Murphy, Krafth, Fernandez, Dummett, Ritchie; Willock, Shelvey, Almiron; Carroll, Saint-Maximin
