Newcastle predicted XI: £10.8m-rated and £9m-rated duo set to miss out despite return to training
Newcastle United will be looking to continue their great run of form as Steve Bruce’s side takes on Sheffield United tomorrow evening.
The Geordies were incredibly unlucky last Friday as they narrowly lost out to newly-crowned champions Manchester City in a thrilling encounter.
Newcastle twice took the lead against Pep Guardiola’s side, however, couldn’t hold on to the lead as a Ferran Torres hat-trick saw the Citizens snatch all three points.
Meanwhile, the blades will be looking to finish off their second season back in the top-flight with a bang after their win over Everton last Sunday.
In terms of team news, Fabian Schar serves the final match of his three-game ban after his red card against Arsenal, meanwhile, Callum Wilson, Jamaal Lascelles, and Karl Darlow are all out.
The Ryan Fraser and Isaac Hayden are both back on the training pitches, however, are not thought to play any part in the final two games of the season.
In defence, Bruce has found some form of consistency, which has, in turn, played its part in the side’s good run of form.
Jacob Murphy, Emil Krafth, Federico Fernandez, Paul Dummett and Matt Ritchie have started each off the last two Premier League games and should retain their places once more.
The same can be said for midfield where the Joe Willock, Jonjo Shelvey and Miguel Almiron have started in each of the last two games and should turn out again. Arsenal’s midfield star continued his sensational form after scoring in his fifth consecutive game for the northeast outfit.
Allan Saint-Maximin and Joelinton were in superb form against City with the Frenchman completing the whilst the Brazilian forward scored his third goal in seven games.
