Report: Newcastle have offered a big-money four-year contract to Champions League winning ‘future captain’
Newcastle United are interested in signing Chelsea defender Andreas Christensen and have reportedly offered him a big-money contract to move to the northeast.
Christensen has an offer on the table from Chelsea but as yet, hasn’t agreed to fresh terms. His contract is due to expire in June, and Chelsea are thought to be keen to tie the Dane down to a new contract.

However, with no deal agreed, reports that Newcastle have made their feelings known when it comes to signing Christensen. It’s claimed that the Toon have offered the Dane big money and have also matched that four-year term on offer at Stamford Bridge.
Christensen has been a key player for Chelsea in recent seasons. He’s won the Champions League with the Blues but has seen competition for places increase at the club. The likes of Rudiger, Silva, Chalobah, and Azpilicueta are all competing with him to start.
A move to Newcastle, then, on a big money deal, could be tempting for the 25-year-old.
TBR’s View: Christensen Would Be Fine At Newcastle
Newcastle get mentioned with a whole host of players as we know. But if they did move for Christensen, then it does seem a sensible move.
They’d be getting a player with big game and trophy winning experience. But at 25, he’s also an asset who could get even better and bring a fee in the future as well.
Christensen would be a smart addition. PIF can afford the wages, it’s just a case of whether the Dane fancies moving to a club with a plan, rather than guaranteed success.
