Newcastle now more willing to sell ‘brilliant’ player than Callum Wilson and Kieran Trippier

Newcastle United are reportedly more willing to sell Miguel Almiron this month than Callum Wilson and Kieran Trippier.

The Paraguay international has recently been linked with a move to Saudi Arabia, with Almiron potentially the next big-named player to leave the Premier League for the Middle East.

With Newcastle in as tight a financial situation as they are, offloading Almiron to Saudi Arabia could be a difficult decision the Magpies have to make in the coming days.

And , the Toon are more willing to sell the 29-year-old winger than the likes of Wilson and Trippier, with Almiron viewed as a sellable asset.

Whilst the likes of Ally McCoist have lauded Almiron as ‘brilliant’ this season, it’s easy to see why Newcastle could be willing to offload the South American forward if a good offer comes in.

Indeed, as beloved a figure Almiron is amongst Newcastle fans, tough decisions have to be made if the Magpies are to strengthen this January, and offloading Wilson or Trippier is simply off the table.

Almiron has firmly established himself as a modern-day icon at Newcastle, with the winger’s performances last season key to the Toon qualifying for the UEFA Champions League.

Yet if Newcastle are to repeat this feat this season, they simply need new signings to help bolster the squad, and selling Almiron could be the only way to doing just that.

It’ll be a sacrifice few fans would want to make, but if a good offer was to be made for Almiron, many supporters would understand the decision if the 29-year-old does in fact leave for Saudi Arabia.

Moreover, if the sale allowed Newcastle to make some top January signings, the move would be even more justified in the eyes of fans, even if it still means losing Almiron to Saudi Arabia.
