Newcastle now interested 25-year-old Premier League defender rated by Carlo Ancelotti
Newcastle United are reportedly interested in signing Everton defender Ben Godfrey, with the centre-back under consideration.
The 25-year-old Goodison Park star has hardly featured for Sean Dyche’s side this season, with Godfrey making just three appearances in all competitions, making two starts.
And with the January transfer window now open, there’s a chance that Godfrey can be on the move, with Newcastle believed to be interested in signing the defender.

that Newcastle view Godfrey as a viable target, with the Everton defender potentially available for as little as £9m.
Once lauded by former Everton manager Carlo Ancelotti, Godfrey could be an ingenious signing from Newcastle, especially if Eddie Howe can work his magic like he has on other players at St. James’ Park.
And given how cheap Godfrey could be available for, Newcastle might take a risk in signing the former Norwich City star, who could be another diamond in need of some polishing.
Newcastle United could get the best out of Ben Godfrey

Godfrey has clearly shown over the years that he is more than capable of performing in the Premier League at a high level.
Yet with the Dyche era now in full swing at Everton, it’s clear that the former Burnley man has no plans to utilise the 25-year-old at all.
Which is why Newcastle can be a new beginning for Godfrey, especially given what Howe has managed to do with the likes of Jamal Lascelles, Joelinton and Miguel Almiron.
With Newcastle in need of a defender, Godfrey could be left-field option that could work out in a big way for the Toon.
