Newcastle now eye ‘brilliant’ £15m midfielder but January deal could be very complicated
Newcastle United are interested in a new midfielder this month and their search could now lead them to Bournemouth star, Philip Billing.
The Magpies are desperate to sign a new midfielder after a number of injuries have ravaged their squad.
Joelinton is the latest player to be ruled out for a long time and now Eddie Howe is asking his board to try and sanction a move for reinforcements in January.
And according to , Bournemouth star Billing is one of the names on Newcastle’s radar.

Newcastle want to sign Philip Billing but deal tough to do
The initial report from the Mail names Billing as a player of interest for Newcastle and manager Eddie Howe.
Howe worked with the Danish star at Bournemouth before and knows all about the qualities he brings.
However, a deal to bring Billing into the club is seen as difficult to do in January.
reports that any notion of Billing leaving Bournemouth this month would be really hard to force through, while the Mags are also determined not to simply panic buy.
Everton midfield Amadou Onana is also mentioned as a key target in that same report.
Newcastle need bodies
There might be an element of not panicking in the market for Newcastle but the injury to Joelinton has really put a spanner in the works.
They need a new midfielder to make up the numbers if anything and while they won’t want to panic, they’ll know equally that they need someone in.
Phil Billing would be a shrewd signing but as it says in the report, taking him off Bournemouth’s hands would be hard work.
Eddie Howe, then, will be hoping his board can pull a rabbit out of the hat. But with money tight and a loan for Kalvin Phillips looking dead, it’s hard to see who they land just now.
