Elliot Anderson wins Nottingham Forest’s Player of the Month award

Eddie Howe was really disappointed when Elliot Anderson was sold and now that feeling has been vindicated.

Anderson, who’s been labelled ‘outstanding’ (Dominic Scurr), has made a terrific start to his Nottingham Forest career as he won the club’s August Player of the Month award.

The former Newcastle midfielder featured in all four of Forest’s four matches in August, often playing as a number six.

The 21-year-old laid on an assist against Wolves in his last outing, curling in a well-placed corner kick for Chris Wood to head home.

Yankuba Minteh impressing at Brighton

Yankuba Minteh was another youngster sold by Newcastle during the summer window, much to Howe’s frustration.

The 20-year-old wide player has really impressed for Brighton so far and like Anderson, he’s already registered his first assist of the campaign.

Minteh caused Manchester United all sorts of problems last month as he constantly ran at Diogo Dalot who really struggled to defend against his pace and trickery.

Newcastle supporters must be watching on thinking ‘what could have been.’
