Newcastle make enquiry for ‘electric’ forward who wants to join the club this summer

Newcastle United have now asked for information regarding a right-winger who has just concluded his Euro 2024 campaign.

Eddie Howe is thought to have made it abundantly clear that he wants to sign a new right-sided forward this summer, someone who can complete his front-three.

For a long while it looked as if Michael Olise could be the ideal candidate, however the Frenchman has since decided to sign for Bayern Munich.

Therefore, newly-appointed Paul Mitchell will be tasked with finding the right candidate to play alongside Anthony Gordon and Alexander Isak next season.

Miguel Almiron often fulfilled that role last season but suffered a dip in form as the campaign went on.

As a result, Almiron could leave Newcastle this summer, with the club thought to be interested in Jarrod Bowen as a potential replacement.

Although, West Ham United won’t entertain any offers for Bowen this summer, perhaps explaining Newcastle’s fresh interest in Girona winger Viktor Tsygankov.

The Ukraine international scored eight goals and registered seven assists in La Liga last season, and has caught the eye of Europe’s elite.

Girona star Viktor Tsygankov would be keen to join Newcastle this summer

According to , both Arsenal and Newcastle have ‘received information’ on Tsygankov, who has a €30m release clause in his contract.

The ‘electric’ winger is open to move to the Premier League, and with Aston Villa also interested, Tsygankov would be keen to move to England with any of the clubs mentioned, should they make a concrete offer.

The report states that Arsenal and Newcastle have the most advanced interest in the 26-year-old right now.

Tsygankov is right-winger with a penchant for cutting inside on his left-foot, which seems to be the exact kind of profile Howe is after this summer.

And at the price tag mentioned, roughly £26m, the Ukrainian could be a very cost-effective option for Newcastle, who will have been quoted much higher prices elsewhere.

Prior to signing for Girona in January 2023, Tsygankov was something of a one-club man, playing his whole career at boyhood club Dynamo Kyiv.

And should Newcastle be lucky enough to steal Tsygankov’s signature this summer, he could be an excellent option to dovetail with Harvey Barnes next season – should he also be afforded chances on the right.
