Newcastle-linked Joelinton makes it clear where his future lies this summer
that he intends on remaining with Bundesliga side Hoffenheim despite being linked with a move to Newcastle United.
earlier this month that Newcastle were eyeing a move for the 22-year-old Brazilian. It was suggested that the attacker would cost a whopping £50million.
He has been in superb form for Hoffenheim this season. Combining pace and power, Joelinton has had a hand in 20 goals in just 32 league and cup appearances. He has scored nine, and created 11 more.
The former Rapid Vienna ace has played up front, out wide and even in the number 10 role. It saw Newcastle become interested – even at such a figure – but Joelinton has issued an update on his future.

“I have a contract here, whether we are in Europe or not. That has no influence,” “I will continue to play here, with or without Champions League football. I’m very happy here and happy to play for Hoffenheim.”
TBR’s view
There is no doubt that Joelinton would be a fantastic signing, and continue to generate momentum and enthusiasm on Tyneside. But is he really worth such a figure?
As much as Newcastle fans want to see new signings from owner Mike Ashley, splashing out such an enormous figure on a player that has only had one good season in Germany is risky.
Newcastle fans would rather see that money spent on two of three very good players, who are proven in the Premier League. Joelinton’s comments, then, may be a blessing in disguise.
