Newcastle interested in last-minute deal to sign Premier League midfielder with ‘brilliant footballing brain’
Newcastle United are reportedly interested in a Deadline Day move for Sheffield United midfielder and England youth international Oliver Arblaster.
The 19-year-old central midfielder had spent the season out on loan with League One side Port Vale, where Arblaster made 26 appearances in all competitions, scoring two and assisting two.
Recalled by the Blades this January, there is now growing transfer interest from the Premier League in Arblaster, with Newcastle one of the sides keeping tabs on the youngster.

, the Magpies, along with Brentford and Brighton & Hove Albion, are interested in signing Arblaster, with Sheffield United worried their star youngster could be poached this year.
Once , Arblaster has proven his worth this season at Port Vale before being recalled by Sheffield United.
And for Newcastle, Arblaster could be an excellent long-term addition, though the Bramall Lane side getting relegated could see the youngster become a regular in the Championship next season.
Sheffield United’s relegation could stop Newcastle from signing Arblaster

Relegation for many clubs often means a fire sale, with academy players now a great source of direct income given their status as homegrown.
Yet for Sheffield United and Arblaster, the situation could be the complete opposite, with the midfielder arguably an opotion for the Blades in the Championship last season.
As a result, Newcastle will be hopeful that the Yorkshire side do the unlikely and escape the Premier League drop-zone, a situation that could see Arblaster join the Magpies in the summer.
