Newcastle fans urge Staveley to sign Liverpool star after Tuesday display
Divock Origi netted his second matchwinner in a matter of days as Liverpool beat AC Milan at the San Siro to finish the group stage with six wins from six – and Newcastle fans have urged their club to sign him.
Origi, 26, came into Tuesday night’s match having scored an injury-time winner against Wolves on Saturday. His late finish saw Liverpool win 1-0 at Molineux, and it saw him start against Milan.
Fikayo Tomori opened the scoring for Milan, the England international reacting first to a loose ball from a Milan corner. But Mo Salah cancelled out Tomori’s opener, finishing after Mike Maignan saved Alex Oxlade-Chamberlain’s shot.
Origi got his fifth goal in 10 outings this season, when Maignan parried another shot – heading perfectly over the French goalkeeper into the top corner. He continues to affirm himself with Liverpool fans.
Labelled a “legend” by Jurgen Klopp last weekend, Origi’s future does remain a doubt. He is out of contract in the summer, and that Newcastle are considering a loan move.

What are Newcastle fans saying about Liverpool star Origi?
A Liverpool icon for his crucially important goals – especially scoring against Tottenham and Barcelona in the Champions League final and semi-final – Origi is now expected to depart.
The chances of him leaving in January is unlikely, with Mo Salah and Sadio Mane jetting off to the African Cup of Nations. But it is more than likely that he will be leaving Liverpool next summer.
Amid reports Newcastle could make a move to sign the Belgium international, Newcastle fans have had their say on Origi – following his goal on Tuesday. Many think he would be a brilliant signing.
