Newcastle United are being linked with a move for Celtic’s Olivier Ntcham – and some of the Toon fans on Twitter have responded extremely positively to the transfer speculation.

have claimed that the Magpies have contacted Scottish giants Celtic about signing their 24-year-old on loan this month for the rest of the season.

It is understood that Newcastle are competing alongside Premier League rivals West Brom, as well as teams from France for the midfielder’s signature.

The report states though that Celtic would like a loan deal to include a permanent buying clause, as the player’s deal with them expires in the summer of 2022.

A selection of Newcastle supporters on social media believe that Ntcham could be a great capture late in the January window.

He’s a versatile central midfielder that can sit deeper dictating play and acting as a defensive screen, but at the same time can play further forward too as a goal threat.

The ex-Manchester City youngster has played 147 games for Celtic and racked up experience on the European stage.

One Toon fan suggested that the Celtic man could be a replacement for their former player Mo Diame, who was the real engine in midfield for them.
