Newcastle fans react as Staveley reportedly considers bringing 31-year-old back to St. James’ Park
Amanda Staveley and Newcastle United’s owners are reportedly looking to bring Gini Wijnaldum back – and Toon fans are excited on Twitter.
Wijnaldum, 31, is struggling for game time at PSG. Since joining Mauricio Pochettino’s side from Liverpool, he has started just nine matches for PSG.
Of his 18 appearances for the Ligue 1 side, Wijnaldum has only completed 90 minutes on three occasions. The grass is not always greener.
But it might be that PSG are willing to cash in on a player they are paying a huge £165,000 a week (). say Newcastle are keen.
Wijnaldum only played for Newcastle for one season, joining the club from PSV Eindhoven for around £18million. He played 40 times for the Toon.
In that time, he netted 11 goals from midfield and laid on five assists. But in the end, The Toon were relegated and Wijnaldum was sold to Liverpool.

What do Newcastle fans think about re-signing Wijnaldum from PSG?
Firstly, Newcastle need a midfielder. Jonjo Shelvey, Isaac Hayden, Sean Longstaff and Jeff Hendrick are options – but better quality is needed.
Wijnaldum is certainly that. While there is some bad feeling about his exit, and potentially downing tools somewhat, he is still a superb footballer.
A Premier League winner, a Champions League winner, Wijnaldum massively improves Newcastle. He would be one of their best players.
Newcastle fans have reacted on Twitter to the reports he could return and many are desperate for a deal to be done in the coming weeks and months.
