Newcastle fans react as club reportedly eye Real Madrid star Luka Jovic
Newcastle United are reportedly rivalling a whole host of Premier League sides to sign Real Madrid striker Luka Jovic with the Serbian struggling in his first season under Zinedine Zidane – and Toon fans have responded on Twitter.
that Newcastle and West Ham are both interested in the 22-year-old striker, who has scored just two goals since his move to Real Madrid from Eintracht Frankfurt – despite playing 24 times.
Jovic had previously scored 36 goals in 75 Frankfurt appearances, before his big-money move to Madrid. But the Hammers and Newcastle are not the only sides interested in signing Jovic, with Arsenal, Everton, Chelsea and Manchester United keen.
However, Newcastle may have the upper hand after Jovic’s close friend and national teammate Aleksandar Mitrovic has spoken with the striker about the Tyneside club. Newcastle are expected to announce a takeover in the coming weeks.
Certainly, The Toon need a striker. Joelinton has struggled since his move from Hoffenheim – netting only one Premier League goal despite wearing the famous number nine shirt. A replacement is needed and Jovic could be the man.
