Newcastle fans don’t want to appoint Claudio Ranieri as next manager

Italian boss Claudio Ranieri reportedly wants to become the next Newcastle United manager – and some of the club’s supporters on Twitter have expressed their concern about the speculation.

, the 67-year-old wants to fill the vacancy at St James’ Park that has come up following Rafael Benitez’s exit and he is available right now after leaving Roma in the summer.

The report details that Ranieri is interested in replacing Benitez in the North East and wants a spell back in England.

A selection of Newcastle fans are still reeling after the depature of favourite Benitez and they certainly don’t want Ranieri to replace him in the hot-seat.

Ranieri is a highly experienced coach that has had 19 different positions during his managerial career at club level, while he was also in charge of Greece’s national team.

The Italian previously had a decent spell in England with Chelsea, while he returned to guide Leicester City to a famous Premier League title in the 2015/16 campaign.

He managed to somehow take the Foxes to an improbable success story with a solid backline and a counter attacking style.

He was less fortunate with Fulham in the last campaign and got sacked mid-season, with the club going on to suffer relegation from the top flight and being defensively weak.

He’s certainly not known for long spells at clubs and it will be intriguing to see if Newcastle are in anyway keen on him.
