Newcastle fans discuss Lucas Digne transfer reports on Twitter

A number of Newcastle United fans have taken to Twitter to react to reports from the weekend claiming that the Magpies are one of the Premier League sides keen on signing Lucas Digne from Everton in January.

Digne has played no part in the Toffees’ last three games in the Premier League. that he has fallen out with Rafa Benitez. And with reports claiming that Vitaliy Mykolenko is coming to Goodison Park, it would appear that it may be best for all parties if a move for Digne is agreed.

He certainly has a number of admirers. that Newcastle want the 28-year-old. Meanwhile, both Chelsea and Leicester City are interested in the Frenchman.

Everton are not going to let Digne leave on the cheap. He has come in for some criticism during his time on Merseyside. And clearly, he is not currently in Benitez’s plans at Goodison.

But he is a player who is capable of outrageous deliveries into the box. He is also on £119,000-a-week, according to . So he is surely going to represent quite the outlay should any of the interested sides lure him away.

Newcastle obviously have the means to make January a very busy and productive month. And it would certainly appear that plenty of their fans would be very happy to see Digne arrive.

Several have insisted that he would be an absolutely brilliant signing. And adding a cluster of players such as Digne to the ranks would surely boost their hopes of pulling themselves out of trouble this season.
