Newcastle could now consider selling 28-year-old player who recently impressed Alan Shearer
Newcastle United could reportedly consider selling Jacob Murphy, who this season has caught the eye with the Magpies.
The 28-year-old winger has emerged as a crucial figure in Eddie Howe’s Newcastle squad, with Murphy making 36 Premier League appearances last season before suffering a shoulder injury this campaign.
Despite making just nine appearances for Newcastle this term, Murphy has more than impressed, with Alan Shearer praising the forward after a win earlier this season against Crystal Palace.

Yet , Newcastle could now be open to selling the former Norwich City attacker, with the Magpies needing to sell before they can sign anyone this January.
As per the report, transfer interest in Murphy is currently limited, and there’s a good chance that a Premier League club might not be willing to shell out a decent fee to sign the Newcastle forward.
Indeed, with Murphy as good a servant for Newcastle as he has been in recent years, selling the 28-year-old would feel like a step in the wrong direction for the Magpies, even if they could get a fee.
Newcastle should look to keep hold of Jacob Murphy

Newcastle’s financial position has put the Toon in a difficult position, with some top players now potentially up for sale to help balance the books.
Yet in the case of Murphy, Newcastle shouldn’t be looking to sell the forward, with the 28-year-old showing that he is a valuable member of the Magpie’s senior squad.
Under Howe, Murphy has elevated his game to levels no Newcastle fan would have predicted, and to sell the forward now would feel like an injustice on all the attacker has done at St. James’ Park.
