Newcastle and Arsenal join race for ‘super fast’ 22-goal striker, he’s brilliant finisher

Most Premier League clubs are likely to be after a striker in the summer with one gaping hole in Arsenal’s side being a goal machine. Newcastle are also likely to be in the market for a new goal getter.

Arsenal currently have Gabriel Jesus, Kai Havertz and Eddie Nketiah up top. But Jesus has struggled with both injury and form of late. Havertz is improving, but is better behind a striker. Eddie Nketiah could go.

Newcastle have Alex Isak and Callum Wilson as options up top. Isak has been sensational and he himself is a target for The Gunners. Don Hutchison thinks it is likely that Wilson could choose to exit this summer.

Both sides are expected to be busy in the upcoming window and a striker will be their priority. One name they could target, is Union St. Gilloise striker Mohamed Amoura – who is in the form of his life in Belgium.

Mohamed Amoura on radar of six Premier League clubs

The 22-year-old is attracting plenty of interest from England. Tottenham are said to have scouted Amoura last month, while West Ham have tabled a bid worth £12.75m to sign him. USG want a fee of £17m.

Now, a report from his home country of Algeria claims numerous Premier League clubs want him. say West Ham, Tottenham, Newcastle, Arsenal, Brighton and Wolves are interested.

Amoura is a top striker, with huge potential. Whether he is good enough to start for The Gunners or even Newcastle remains to be seen. But he is affordable – and that could tempt Arsenal, or Eddie Howe’s side.

What former Newcastle man Philippe Albert said about Amoura

Former Toon star Albert is a pundit in Belgium, and – describing him as “extraordinary”. His teammate Alessio Castro-Montes also gave a glowing review of the USG forward.

He said: “He is really super fast, but his biggest advantage is his efficiency. He really is a monster in front of goal,” and that is exactly why Premier League clubs want him. He is a game changer, at just £17m.

To continue his forward momentum though, you would have to say he needs to join a club where he will play regularly. He won’t get that at Arsenal or Tottenham, and probably Newcastle if they keep Isak.
