24-year-old out, U23 pair start: Leeds predicted lineup vs Arsenal

Leeds United have a huge point to prove when they return to Premier League action and face Arsenal at Elland Road on Saturday.

Marcelo Bielsa’s side will be desperate to produce a much better display after their heavy defeat to Manchester City in midweek.

The problem? Leeds, of course, are still dealing with a raft of injuries. And actually, the list of absentees appeared to get even longer at the Etihad Stadium.

Junior Firpo is suspended after collecting his fifth yellow card. Meanwhile, Jamie Shackleton came off during the first-half after picking up a knock. that Dan James also picked up an injury.

As things stand, it is not yet clear whether Leeds will have any players back from the treatment table. It would certainly be a huge boost if the likes of Liam Cooper, Pascal Struijk, Rodrigo or Patrick Bamford could get back.

But Leeds fans will be fearful that the squad that had nothing in the tank against City will make up the large majority of the side that will host the Gunners.

Our predicted lineup includes three changes. Cody Drameh replaces James Shackleton at right-back.

Meanwhile, Mateusz Klich replaces Junior with Stuart Dallas moving to left-back. Klich was not terrible when he came on against City, and had some joy driving the side forward.

Meanwhile, Joe Gelhardt could replace James. Using the Welshman up front has not worked for Leeds. And plenty of supporters felt that Gelhardt was a shining light on Tuesday.

Joe Gelhardt, Cody Drameh and Mateusz Klich in: Leeds predicted lineup vs Arsenal

Drameh looks set to make his full Premier League debut with Junior out and doubts over Shackleton and James. Meanwhile, Gelhardt will be hoping to add to his tally having opened his account for the first-team last weekend at Chelsea.

With that in mind, here is how Leeds may line up against Arsenal…
